In early may 2011, The Ontario Primary Care Paramedic Fieldguide turned seven years old and passed a major milestone: 10,000 copies sold. We are quietly proud of the achievement of this little handbook. From a humble beginning as a 25 page "reminder" for the author, to it's current iteration as a 310 page "must-have" reference for Ontario Paramedics, the fieldguide has received widespread support from both paramedic students and working medics alike.
The book is a constantly evolving project and will grow again in 2011 with the revision of the Ontario Base Hospital protocols and new Heart & Stroke Foundation Cardiac Life Support protocols as well as the addition of more common over-the-counter and prescription drugs to our already comprehensive listing of medications.
If you don't have the most current edition, maybe it's time to get re-acquainted with an old friend.
